Mahmut grew up in Van (Eastern Turkey), two of his uncles are in carpet business, so from very young he discovered rugs, carpets and kilims, and did fall in love with them.

We met in Van 1991, and in 1993 we did open our carpet shop in Selçuk - Ephesus, Turkey.

Although we are in a touristy region we try to have also the better pieces.  And we have also big choice in older kilims and textiles.

I am born in Belgium, studied textile art, history hand weaving and restoration of textile

When you do textile restoration you can do a lot of voluntary   (museum) work...or making restoration of rugs, carpets and kilims.  So here I got infected by the virus of collecting  carpets, textiles and old kilims.
